Meme: Six Quirky Things

Karl did this yesterday, and it comes at a good time since I’m trying to get my 100 Things completed. And every time I do a meme of this type, I get to add a few more things to my list! Besides which, I’m kind of on a list kick lately. Even been thinking about reactivating Chronic Listaholic.

So here are the rules:

1) Link to the person who tagged you.
2) Post the rules.
3) Share six non-important things / habits / quirks about yourself.
4) Tag at least three people.
5) Make sure the people you tagged KNOW you tagged them by commenting that you did.

Here’s my six things:

  1. I have a 24-inch inseam. Although I am only 5 feet tall, that is SHORT. Even though I buy my pants in Petite length, they are always too long. My legs are so short, they just barely reach to the ground.
  2. I have a bamboo plant named Ping, which is the Chinese word for balance. It also has geeky connotations, which is perfect for me. Ping was an office-warming gift from my BFF Sheryl.
  3. I own more vinyl albums than CDs. Probably five times as many, actually.
  4. I hate lettuce. HATE IT. I take it off sandwiches, and will only eat salads if they are drenched in dressing.
  5. I have a very difficult time going to sleep without a cat on or against me. This is a definite problem when I travel.
  6. I can barely bring myself to drink bottled water because of the bacteria levels in it. The only brand I truly trust is Dasani. This is what happens when you watch too much Discovery Science.

I do not tag, but please feel free to grab this if you wish.

I didn’t know the bamboo had been named… I’m happy you like him (her?). Really sorry I missed lunch today. I’m hoping we can reschedule to Monday. Love you Hon.

I was tagged with this one a couple of weeks ago and I can’t make myself do it. Nothing like a short list to put me on edge.

I don’t like to sleep without pussy either, BTW.

How funny…I can’t bring myself to drink out of the tap. I don’t care what is in what…I like my bottled water ;). But where the cat is concerned, I get a little bit freaked out when he’s not down by my feet and biting them when it’s time to get up!

  7.  SJ Says:

Sizzle and Karl: It was a show about bacteria in our everyday lives, and they were comparing places we expect it with places we don’t. They found higher bacteria levels in bottled waters pulled randomly off store shelves than on toilet seats in a public restroom. I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP. Granted, it was different types of bacteria, but I just can’t get that connection out of my head. Drinking bottled water is like licking a stranger’s ass!!!  (Dasani was the only bottle that tested “clean.”)

    John: Uh huh.

Sheryl: It just got named this week! Hope you’re feeling better, chica.

ajooja: Not that you ever have to, I’ll bet.

  8.  SJ Says:

Hilly: Oh, I can’t drink straight tap water, either! Ours tastes like ass. But we installed a high-tech water filtering unit and that’s my preferred source. My cats sit on my chest and meow when it’s wakey-wakey time.

  9.  kapgar Says:

At least you have meaningful names for your plants. We have a bamboo plant named “Boo;” a paddle plant named “Pad;” a big viney plant named “Viney;” a think stemmed plant that we call “Branchy” because his tendrils are more branch-like; and a big leafy plant called, can you guess, “Leafy.”

We’re original like that. But they seem to like the names.

Oh yeah, when we split Leafy into two plants, the second one became “Leafy 2: Electric Boogaloo.”

I love Dasani - it’s my fav bottled water in North America. I heard it’s just tap water distilled three times, but I don’t care. I like the taste - it’s sweet and clean.

I heard the bottled water thing is only for reusing plastic water bottles, right? It’s not exactly that bad with a fresh no name bottle. I think… I think…

I think it’s time for me to jump on the wagon and do this meme too. LOL

  11.  Bec Says:

I’m going to pretend the bacteria in bottled water is a US problem and drink naively on.

  12.  Laughing Muse Says:

That bit about the bottled water kind of makes me wonder if Coca-Cola was one of Discovery Science’s sponsors…or at least, for that show.

Not that I don’t believe that bottled water has bacteria levels…but it depends what kinds of bacteria.
